Peering Policy
- Peers must maintain up-to-date contact information in DN42 registry.
- Peers must have route objects for their advertisements (see routing policy below).
- Multiprotocol BGP (MP-BGP) over IPv6 link-local with enhanced next hop is preferred. BGP sessions with IPv6 ULA or IPv4 are still supported for compatibility.
- Only WireGuard peering is available. A publicly reachable WireGuard endpoint is optional.
- Inactive sessions will be removed after extended downtime.

Routing Policy
- Advertisements without valid ROAs (route/route6 objects) or AS-path length >7 are rejected.
- All valid routes from peers will be imported. All valid routes will be exported to peers.
- Routing is determined by peer latency. Closer peers will have higher local preference. Direct routes are preferred over indirect. Unstable peers will have reduced local preference and/or rejects.
- Imported routes will be exported to DN42 Global Route Collector (GRC).
- Peers with broken routing will have substantially reduced local preference for downstream routes.
